Abstract

This study explores national strategies adopted by EU Member States for addressing labour market needs and shortages and the extent to which these strategies draw upon migrant workers to address such needs.  The study also examines whether the recent economic downturn and recovery have led to any changes to these strategies to satisfy labour demand through migration.

This Synthesis Report synthesises the main findings of the National Reports for the EMN Study on Satisfying Labour Demand through Migration undertaken by EMN National Contact Points from 23 Member States (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom).
