Launch of 2015 Migrant Integration Policy Index for Ireland

Ireland ranked 19 out 38 countries[1] in the 2015 Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) with a score of 52 per cent in eight policy areas for migrant integration.

Ireland performed well in:

  • Political participation, scoring 73 per cent (ranking 6 out of 38 countries)
  • Anti-discrimination, scoring 66 per cent (ranking 17 out of 38)
  • Access to nationality, scoring 59 per cent (14 out of 38)
  • Health, with a 58 per cent score (10 out of 38).

However, Ireland scored low in:

  • Access to family reunion, scoring 40 per cent (36 out of 38 countries)
  • Permanent residency, scoring 49 per cent (35 out of 38)
  • Labour market mobility, scoring 36 per cent (33 out of 38)
  • Access to education, scoring 30 per cent (30 out of 38).
