This commencement was issued on 9 March 2016. This order commenced sections 78, 80 and 81 of the International Protection Act 2015. Sections 78 and 80 concern the power to arrest and detain for the purposes of deportation, while section 81 provides for the refusal of leave to land to non-nationals who have been in another country in the Common Travel Area in the previous 12 months, or who has travelled to the State from any such territory and where the non-national has entered the State for the purpose of extending his or her stay in the Common Travel Area regardless of whether or not the person intends to make an application for international protection.
