This order provided that 22 December 2016 was the commencement date for the following sections of the International Protection Act 2015: section 2 (interpretation), 3 (regulations), section 15(5) (insofar as it related to prescribing a form), section 17(2) (insofar as it related to prescribing information), section 20(1) (insofar as it related to prescribing places of detention), section 48(7) (related to the notice of the option of voluntary return to the country of origin), section 48(8) (related to notice of confirmation of voluntary return to the country of origin), section 49(10) (related to the prescribed period within which a person can seek a review of a refusal of humanitarian leave to remain), section 51(5) (related to the form of a deportation order), section 55(3) (related to the form of an application for a travel document), section 55(4) (the form of a travel document) and section 61(2) (the power to appoint an establishment day for the International Protection Appeals Tribunal).
This order also provided that 31 December 2016 was the date for commencement of the remaining provisions of the 2015 Act.
