These Regulations amend the Employment Permits Regulations 2017 to provide for the removal of commis chef from Schedule 4 (Employments in respect of which an employment permit shall not be granted), to remove the quota of General Employment Permits that may be granted in respect of employment as a chef as listed in Schedule 4 and to remove the number of General Employment Permits that may be in force in respect of employment as a chef in a particular establishment; to facilitate eligibility for Critical Skills Employment Permits in respect of qualified, registered Nursing Board of Ireland nurses and midwives; an adjustment of the maximum limit of General Employment Permits that may be granted in respect of employment as a heavy goods vehicle driver; and an adjustment of the maximum limit of General Employment Permits that may be granted in respect of employment as a meat processing operative.
