This resource sets out Ireland’s current participation in EU migration and asylum legislation*, including a detailed thematic breakdown of relevant measures and corresponding Irish transposing legislation. This resource summarises Ireland’s current participation as at December 2023.

 

 

*As set out under Protocol 19 to the Treaty on the European Union (TEU) and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), Ireland does not participate in the provisions of the Schengen acquis unless it notifies its intention to do so.

As set out under Protocol 21 to the TEU and TFEU, Ireland does not participate in the adoption of measures related to the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice under Title V of Part Three of the TFEU unless it notifies its intention to do so.
