These regulations amend the international protection application form and revoke the previous form set out under International Protection Act 2015 (Application for International Protection Form) Regulations 2016 (SI No. 660/2016).
The Regulations update the format and content of the application form.
The form captures information on:
- consent;
- details of the applicant’s identity;
- details of the applicant’s contact and address information;
- the category of application;
- details of family member(s);
- details of the grounds for the application;
- reason(s) for which dependent(s) fear persecution;
- details on whether the applicant is at risk of ‘serious harm’ in the context of subsidiary protection;
- reasons for which dependent(s) fear serious harm;
- details on safe country of origin (where an applicant is from a country designated as a safe country of origin);
- details on the reporting of incident(s) to authorities;
- information that would support an application for permission to remain;
- details on other family members not mentioned in the application;
- and, details of ongoing criminal investigation, or if previously committed, charged or convicted of any criminal offence.
