S.I. No.662 of 2016

These Regulations came into operation on 31 December 2016. The purpose of the Regulations is to prescribe the Temporary Residence Certificate to be issued to an application for international protection pursuant to section 17 of the International Protection Act 2015.

This Order was made for the purpose of giving effect in Irish law to the Directive on minimum standards for the qualification and status of third country nationals or stateless persons as refugees or as persons who otherwise need international protection and the content of the protection granted (Directive 2004/83/EC: “the Qualification Directive”).

This Directive applies to all EU Member States except Denmark. The Directive was published in the Official Journal of the EU on 30 September 2004 and came into force twenty days later.
