These Regulations amend the Immigration Act 2004 (Registration Certificate Fee) Regulations 2012 (S.I. No. 444 of 2012 ) to provide that persons who hold a valid residence permission granted in accordance with the International Protection Regularisation Scheme (launched in 2022) are exempt from paying the fee for obtaining a registration certificate.

S.I. No.662 of 2016

These Regulations came into operation on 31 December 2016. The purpose of the Regulations is to prescribe the Temporary Residence Certificate to be issued to an application for international protection pursuant to section 17 of the International Protection Act 2015.

These Regulations were made for the purpose of amending the European Communities (Free Movement of Persons) (No. 2) Regulations 2006 (S.I. No. 656 of 2006) to reflect the decision of the European Court of Justice in its ruling in the case of “Metock and Others” (C-127/08) on 25 July 2008.
