This report provides an overview into the most significant political and legislative (including EU) developments, as well as public debates, in the area of asylum and migration, with the focus on third-country nationals rather than EU nationals, for the period 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2010.
The report was also used in the elaboration of the Commission’s Tracking Method Report on the implementation of the European Pact on Immigration and Asylum and of the relevant asylum and migration-related elements of the Stockholm Programme and its Accompanying Action Plan.
This EMN Synthesis Report summarises the main findings of National Reports produced by twenty-three of the EMN National Contact Points (EMN NCPs) from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. It also includes information provided on an ad-hoc basis by Denmark, Cyprus, Greece and Romania.
