Abstract
The current study aims to investigate managed migration and the labour market in relation to the health sector in Ireland. The focus of the report is on the following areas: medicine, nursing, dentistry, dental nursing, psychology, nursing and midwifery, physiotherapy, pharmacy and chiropody/podiatry. The study identifies that immigration has contributed substantially to increased numbers of persons employed in medicine and nursing in Ireland. These future immigrant needs in the health sector are considered in light of anticipated demographic and other trends.
