Abstract
This study provides an overview of the organisation of asylum and migration policies in the EU Member States. This includes inter alia the institutional context, the Ministries involved, basic laws and regulations and other organisations dealing with immigrants. The study concerns only the organisation of asylum and migration policies related to third country nationals from outside the EU. The 24 EMN NCPs who participated in this activity were from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The study covers the reference period up to December 2008.
