Abstract
This EMN synthesis report provides a description of reception facilities in the member states, the number, capacities and location of such accommodation centres and of other accommodation; an analysis of the social situation of asylum applicants within the accommodation centres; and a description of the administrative and legal frameworks of the asylum application procedures. Ten of the EMN National Contact Points (EMN NCPs) participated in this study including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
