- Department of Jobs Enterprise and Innovation launched a new Employment Permits Online Status Up-date Enquiry Facility.
- As of 15 February 2016, a new Atypical Working Scheme for undocumented workers in the fishing industry – Non-EEA Crew Members (Irish Fishing Fleet) has been introduced
- From 1 February 2016, changes to Schedules 3 and 4 of the Employment Permits Regulations (the Highly Skilled Eligible Occupations List (HSEOL) and the Ineligible Categories of Employment List (ICEL) came into effect.
- 100 new citizens will be naturalised in Waterford on 4th March and the next citizenship ceremonies will take place in The Convention Centre Dublin, on Friday 15 April 2016. See: www.inis.gov.ie.

- A new Stamp 1G for students availing of the Third Level Graduate Scheme will be introduced effective from 1 February 2016.
- International Protection Act 2015 with the principal purpose of reforming the system for determining applications for international protection in Ireland through the introduction of a single application procedure was signed into law on 30 December 2015.
- Revised remuneration requirements for specific Employment Permit types (SI No 442 of 2015), increased the statutory minimum wage to €9.15 per hour effective from 1 January 2016.
