About Us
What is the European Migration Network
The European Migration Network (EMN) is an EU network of experts who work together to provide objective, comparable policy-relevant information on migration and international protection. The EMN’s key strength is to compare, synthesise, summarise and share data and information collected at national and EU levels in accessible and comparable formats. This is done through its research and dissemination tools such as annual reports, studies, informs, ad-hoc queries as well as newsletters, social media accounts and EU level events.
Who we are
EMN Ireland is the Irish National Contact Point (NCP) of the European Migration Network and its team is located both in the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and the Department of Justice. EMN Ireland contributes to the EU comparative work of the EMN and supports national-level stakeholders with their information needs through the design and implementation of research projects. EMN Ireland also contributes to public information on migration and asylum through the dissemination of EMN research. EMN Ireland is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Department of Justice.
